Case · International e-commerce

One catalogue, three countries, every product in 3D.

Grillbill sells premium barbecues from one storefront into the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. The job was to make one shop behave like three local ones, without three teams to run it.

Situation

A Dutch shop with German customers and no German site.

Orders from Germany, France and the UK were coming in through a Dutch-only WooCommerce store. Every product had one description, one set of metadata and one price display. Translating by hand meant every product edit had to be redone three times, and in practice it was not. Product imagery was a second problem: the grills are configurable and heavy, customers wanted to see the exact model and its dimensions before ordering, and the manufacturer only had CAD drawings.

Approach

Make translation a status, not a task.

We migrated the catalogue to Neuramerce and made every text field, slug and piece of metadata a per-language record. When a source text changes, the other languages are marked stale in the admin instead of silently showing the old text. The storefront serves each locale under its own path, with its own sitemap and hreflang. For the 3D viewer we read the geometry straight out of the manufacturer's eDrawings files and generated web-ready models for every product page. No photography, no manual uploads, and AR on the phone for free.

Result

Four local shops, one team of two.

Grillbill now runs four language storefronts from one catalogue. A product edit is one edit; the admin shows what still needs translating. Every product page carries a 3D model that loads in the viewer and opens in AR on a phone, generated from files the manufacturer already had.
